The NHL made history in 1991, when they hosted their first outdoor game in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was 80 degrees that day.

The 2014 Winter Classic was held at Michigan Stadium. The temperature that day was 13 degrees with a wind chill of zero and yet 106,000 people braved a snow storm to watch a regular season hockey game outdoors.

Mario Lemieux was spot on when he said “every day is a great day for hockey.”
