The year is 2015, the year of the Ram and hands down, the lunar calendar has the Gregorian calendar beat. Chinese New Year is a celebration that lasts 15 long, days, unlike the flimsy ol’ New Year of the civil calendar. The Chinese lunar calendar also features a different animal each year. Each animal represents something different and, similar to a traditional zodiac, it is believed that a person born in that year takes on the traits of the animal.
Be careful deciding which animal you are, especially if your birthday falls in January or February. The lunar calendar doesn’t follow the Gregorian calendar and each new year falls on a different day during the first part of the year. So double check your animal and then find out what traits your lunar sign holds.
