Cheers to Blueberry-Pomegranate Sangria!

Sangria happens to be #1 on my list of favorite summer beverages. With the hottest months of the year upon us, it’s the perfect drink to offer a quick and delicious cool down for your backyard get-together.

This probably isn’t the first sangria recipe you’ve ever seen and it’s probably not going to be the last. However, it’s my personal opinion that this is the best sangria recipe you’ll try all summer long. I mean, who doesn’t love blueberries and pomegranate? Honestly, if fruit were fashion, those are the haute couture of the produce world.

It’s pretty simple and easy enough to make little changes to the recipe to make it your own.

Backyard Blueberry Pomegranate Sangria

Fruit.  We recommend blueberries and pomegranate, obviously. But add your favorites as well.
Bottle of your favorite red or white wine. (I prefer white wine, but it’s customary to use red. )
16oz of pomegranate juice
1 cup of blueberry vodka
12oz of lemon lime soda

Start with the fruit and if you’re using pomegranate and blueberries, I like to muddle them LIGHTLY. I want to keep the overall texture but get some of the color and flavors that natural fruits provide. If you’re using other fruits like orange slices, you don’t have to worry about this as much. Add your wine, pomegranate juice and vodka. Let it sit for about 2 hours. Add the soda to the pitcher and some extra fruit as garnish if you so desire and serve over ice in your favorite tumbler.
