Houston, We Have A Popper Dip
Are you ready for some football entertaining? Of course you are and you still have plenty of time to prepare for you big game day event. And we’re here to help.
As all of our eyes will be focused on the game in Houston next Sunday, we felt it appropriate to go with a game day appetizer that would be right at home in the southwest – not to mention man-caves around the country. If you like a little spice in your life, we suggest going with this cheesy, bacon jalapeno popper dip.
How does that sound? Besides delicious.
This ooey-gooey spicy treat is a creamier version of one of the country’s favorite appetizer and adds a kick to your game day entertaining.
And it’s easy to make.
16 oz cream cheese
1 cup mayo
4 oz can diced jalapenos
4 oz can diced green chiles
1/2 cup shredded Mexican cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 tsp cumin
6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 tbsp melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
Add cream cheese and mayonnaise to a mixing bowl and mix until smooth.
Add 1/2 the bacon, jalapenos, chiles, cumin and cheeses.
Transfer to prepared dish, smooth out with a rubber spatula.
Combine melted butter, panko, and Parmesan cheese and sprinkle over top of dip.
Sprinkle remaining bacon pieces over the top.
Bake for 25 minutes (longer if needed) until dip is bubbling.
Garnish with jalapeno slices. Serve hot with your favorite dipping chip!
