Orange Cream Cheese Brownies Beat the Winter Blues

Have you have had your fill of winter? Are you looking for just a little hint of summer? You’re in luck. February 10 is National Cream Cheese Brownies Day.

Inspired by today, we whipped up this easy recipe that combines two great summertime tastes – orange cream and brownies – into one delectable bite. Grab a mixing bowl and bake away those winter blues.

Ingredients
1 box of your favorite brownie mix
All ingredients that the brownie mix requires

Orange Cream Cheese
8oz cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
2-3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
Prepare brownie mix as instructed on box.
In a separate bowl,  combine cream cheese, sugar, egg, orange juice and zest and vanilla. With a hand mixer on medium. beat until smooth.
In greased brownie pan, add half of prepared brownie batter.
Dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of brownie batter.
Cover the orange cream cheese with the remaining brownie mix.
For a mosaic look, take a fork and swirl the top 2 layers together.
Cook according to the box instructions.
Allow to cool before serving.
